average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.synopsis...

light and variable winds will become southeasterly late tonight
into friday morning as strong low pressure deepens to 28.9 inches
in the central great plains. low pressure will quickly 
progress into the upper mississippi valley this evening into 
friday night. breezy southeast winds will develop friday into 
friday night, with thunderstorms possible friday night across
southeastern portions of the open waters. wind shift to southerly
and increase to likely gales on saturday. a gale watch is in 
effect for the entirety of the open waters saturday morning 
through saturday evening. breezy southwest winds saturday evening 
will then shift westerly late saturday night into sunday as low 
pressure lifts into northern wisconsin.
