waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...a 30.2 inch high east of the canadian maritimes will 
drift across the canadian maritimes today. a 28.8 inch low over 
the plains states friday will then lift northeast to lake superior
friday night and saturday, then to james bay on sunday. the low 
will push its trailing cold front across the lake sunday. a 30.4 
inch high will then build across the southeastern states, ridging 
northward across the lower great lakes on monday.

.synopsis...
a high pressure center over eastern canada extends a ridge 
averaging 30.10 inches over lake erie through friday. on friday 
through sunday, a low is expected to track generally northeastward
from the central great plains to near james bay and deepen to 
28.80 inches. this low will allow a warm front to sweep northward 
across lake erie friday night through saturday morning and a cold 
front to sweep eastward across the lake overnight saturday night 
through sunday. behind the cold front, a ridge averaging 30.10 
inches builds from the upper midwest through this monday.
